Valley Press Club Headlines
The Valley Press Club Scholarship Award Event took place on June 21, 2008 in the Deliso Conference Room, at Mercy Hospital.
The Press Club scholarship committee awarded six students, planning to study journalism in college, with $1000 scholarships, at the annual event. Need more information? or email us: info@valleypressclub.com
Mr. Tom Shea, award winning columnist with The Republican newspaper was the keynote speaker for the event.
Mr. Albert M. Jaffe, Vice President of Talent Recruitment for ESPN, the Valley Press Club's very first scholarship reciepient in 1964, also attended this year's Annual Scholarship event.
The Valley Press Club is deeply grateful to WWLP Television and the Republican Newspapers for underwriting two of the annual Press Club scholarships.

The annual Press Club Roast was held on Friday evening May 2, at the Keg Room pub, 87 State Street, Springfield, MA. Among the guests were, Mayors Domenic Sarno, Sue Dawson and Mike Bissonette,Sheriff Mike Ashe Jr. and Deputy Ray Fyre, Holyoke Police Chief Anthony Scott, State Senator Steve Buoniconti, Springfield Democratic Party Chair Henry Twriggs, city councilors and other notorious dignitaries. Thanks to Jim Polito for MC-ing and to John O'Brien for your usual gut-spliting political humor.
